About Us

Hi, we’re Mbuso and Christine, together we run SurfXCape, a mobile Surf School located in Muizenberg, Cape Town.

We both have years of experience in what we’re doing and we share the same vision: giving back. So we founded SurfXCape to combine our knowledge for a bigger cause.
Not only do we offer surf lessons tailored specifically to you but also give back to the local community by supporting young, talented surfers.

Meet Mbuso

Hi, I’m Mbuso, founder of SurfXCape, I’m from Cape Town and a passionate longboard surfer and your Coach. I love sharing this passion, whether you’re starting or want to improve your skills.
I’m also the go-to for partnerships and collaborations — so if you’re a tour guide, travel agent, or business keen to connect, feel free to reach out!

Qualification

I’ve been surfing for over 17 years and coaching for more than a decade. I’ve proudly represented South Africa twice on the world stage, am the WP Champ 2025 and have competed in numerous other surf contests here in Muizenberg, Cape Town and South Africa.

This experience helps me guide others with insight, patience, and precision, whether you’re catching your first wave or aiming to refine your technique.

Why Surf With Me

Even though I’m experienced in competing, my real goal is to help people of all ages and backgrounds to discover the joy and freedom of surfing.

Whether you’re just starting or want to level up your skills, style and confidence, I’ll meet you exactly where you are.

What to expect

Every lesson is tailored to your pace, your level, and your goals. With over 11 years of coaching experience, I offer clear, patient guidance, whether you’re learning the basics or want to refine your skills.

I teach both longboarding and shortboarding and create a relaxed space for anyone, including those with anxiety or high sensitivity (HSP). My focus is on confidence, progress, and enjoying the ride.

So no matter what your goal is, I offer one-on-one and group lessons for all ages and stages. I’ll help you to feel comfortable, capable, and stoked every time you paddle out.

Meet Christine

Hi, I’m Christine, the land-based half of SurfXCape.
I’m a German organization- and marketing lover who fell in love with Cape Town and South Africa. I’ll make sure you have a smooth and personal booking experience.

Qualification

I am a certified Online Marketing Manager and nutrition consultant with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and over 7 years of experience in Project Management for commercials.

My knowledge in Project Management, Office Management, Marketing, Social Media and Nutrition ensures to give you the smoothest and most excellent experience from booking until lesson setup.
